Filipe Miguel Encaustic Art Exhibit

Filipe Miguel will be exhibiting a display of Encaustic Art in the Bridgewater Public Library’s Flora T. Little Gallery from September 6th through the end of October.

Encaustic art is an ancient technique in which the artist adds paint to hot beeswax, and then applies the substance to canvas.  The paint cools and hardens quickly, after which it is textured to create depth.

Miguel received a bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1995 and a Masters in Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut in 2003.  He has exhibited locally, regionally and internationally.

The gallery is open during regular library hours and is located on the second floor, which is accessible by elevator.
