Middleborough-Bridgewater Joint Public Hearings: Proposed 2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Activities

Through a series of outreach meetings/forums and surveys held over the past months we incorporated ideas and recommendations to develop two activities across the two communities to include in our joint 2012 Community Development Block Grant Application.  The Town of Bridgewater is proposing these activities and would like public input:

§  Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Programto assist eligible residents in defined areas (Middleborough Center and Bridgewater Downtown area) in both towns with essential home repairs (roofs, siding, heating systems, electrical, weatherization, handicap accessible additions, septic).
§  Downtown Revitalization Planning Study prepared by a consultant that would result in recommendations/guidance for a phased approach to addressing improvements in the downtown area (sidewalk upgrades, parking, traffic calming, signage, handicap accessibility, etc.).

We will hold one meeting in Bridgewater and one meeting in Middleborough. You can attend either. The Bridgewater meeting will be structured to provide solid input from citizens to the planning process.
