Enjoy a gourmet meal in Bridgewater for a good cause

The tastes of Philadelphia will come to Bridgewater, Mass., at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 16, when Central Square Congregational Church transforms its fellowship hall into “The Liberty Diner” to raise funds for an upcoming youth mission trip.

The mission dinner, open to the entire community, provides major financial support for the youth group’s volunteer work. This June more than a dozen youth participants and their leaders will use a week of their summer vacation to conduct community service, including home improvement projects, in Fishtown, Pa., near Philadelphia.

Funds from the mission dinner will help defray the costs of travel, lodging and food.

Guests at “The Liberty Diner” can choose from a variety of culinary offerings that conjure up the spirit of Philly. Appetizer plates, which cost $12, feature soft Philly pretzels, rosemary wings, and reuben roll-ups. Entrees, including Philly cheese steak meatloaf, Dubliner chicken, and poached salmon, cost $18 and are served with mashed potatoes and tarragon carrots. Guests with a sweet tooth can choose from one of three desserts, including Amish raisin bread pudding, chocolate potato cake, or a fresh fruit cup, all of which cost $5.

The event is limited to 100 guests and a reservation is required. For more information, or to make your reservation, contact Central Square Congregational Church at (508) 697-6016.
