What is BTV?



WHAT: BTV Access Corporation is hosting its 25th Anniversary Open House event, featuring a documentary that highlights twenty five years of volunteerism and community media. The event will also have tours around the facility, a Hollywood theme, snacks and much more. BTV Access Corporation, or BTV, is a non-profit enterprise dedicated to serving the Bridgewater community by providing local programming, citizen access to the local television production facilities, and the education to use those facilities.

HOW: The BTV Access Corporation employs four individuals beginning with a Station Manager, Jeff Fowler to manage the operation, Event Coordination, and Public Relations of the studio. News Producer, Alicia Fortin is essential to the continued success of the weekly news program ''Bridgewater This Week'', from script writing, ENG field production, studio taping and packaged stories, to the editing of the final product. Jason Pritchard, the studio's Associate Producer does various program editing, mobile engineering, provides basic equipment and studio maintenance, as well as all website updating. John Luck rounds up the team as Production Assistant. He is the chief videographer for Selectmen and School Committee meetings and manages the Electronic Bulletin Board.

WHO: BTV Access is a local cable station bringing news to the town of Bridgewater itself. The community is what makes BTV Access what it is today. The event is open to anyone interested in becoming a volunteer, wants to see how their local cable programming works, or is looking for a fun night of celebration.

WHEN: Friday May 10, 2013, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Open House will be from 6:30 to approximately 7:45pm
Documentary will premiere at 8:00pm

WHY: Through its equipment and personnel, BTV offers free training in the use and care of television equipment and opportunities members of the community to express themselves creatively and get experience in the field of television production. BTV Access is a volunteer driven production facility and is regularly seeking residents from the community to participate in coverage of public meetings, sports events, school concerts, special events, and much more. We also encourage volunteer production of production of programs at our state-of-the-art studios. Equipment and training is provided free of charge.
