Lemonade Stand Success and Feasting for Families Event at McDonald’s

On Saturday, August 3rd, Greater Bridgewater Women of Today held a Lemonade Stand/Bake Sale at Winter Place to benefit their Family in Need Fund and the Jamasi School Project. The children of GBWOT members, worked the stand collecting money, pouring homemade lemonade and pink lemonade, and bagging up the baked goods. The fundraiser was a great success and the group collected over $400. GBWOT would like to thank Citizens Bank and Branch Manager, Nick Mollo for their extremely generous donation of $150. Senior Banker, Ed Chase presented the donation to GBWOT Sunshine Manager, Donna Trapp during the fundraiser. GBWOT Treasurer, Bernadette Reed and member Wendy Gabriel organized the event. Reed said, “we love to get our kids involved in our events whenever we can, my daughter Alex and son Dylan, loved making the lemonade and had fun working the stand with their friends. They told me after the event that they loved that their work helped children and families that had less than them.”

The group will continue to raise funds for their Family in Need Fund, with a series of restaurant fundraisers. The next event in the “Feasting for Families” series will be held on Tuesday, August 13th at the McDonalds in Campus Plaza, from 5-8 PM. GBWOT is volunteer organization that performs community service, raises funds to support local and national charities, and foster friendships. GBWOT meetings are open to the pulbic and are held on the third Monday of the month. The next meeting is Monday, August 19th at 7 PM.
