Lecture: A Letter Home

The Bridgewater Public Library will host local historian, David Moore, on Tuesday, October 22nd at 7PM for a lecture focusing on WWII entitled “A Letter Home”.

Over 900 men and women left Bridgewater to serve their country during World War II - probably 90% of the men between the ages of 18 and 40. Some never came home, but most did return. For those that did return, their lives were changed forever and those experiences helped to shape the town we live in today.

“A Letter Home” is the story of one man from Bridgewater, Kenneth Moore, who went off to war to serve his country. His letters home were published in the Bridgewater Independent and those stories led to a column in the paper that he continued to write for the next 50 years – “Talk of the Common”.

This event is part of the One Book One Community fall program. For more information about One Book One Community, visit: http://www.bridgew.edu/ucp/onebook.cfm.

David’s talk will be held in the Flora T. Little Meeting Room on the lower level of the library, which is accessible by elevator. Parking is available in back of the library, located at 15 South Street.
