Lions International Peace Poster Contest




Each year, Lions Clubs all over the world sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest for students ages 11, 12 and 13. This contest, which began 26 years ago, encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. The theme for the 2013-2014 Contest is “Our World, Our Future”. Posters are judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme.

The Bridgewater Public Library is currently displaying posters created by students from the Williams Intermediate School: Summer Sherrin, Rachel Manning, Elizabeth Larson, Benjamin Wokoske, Ryan Loud, Tessa Sullivan, Cassei Zumpfe, Anna Chao, Isaiah Bordwin, Aaron Eures, Pratham Vankar, Ryan Nelson, Devan Galas, Brendan Maloney, Annie McDonald, Evan Sousa, Emelia Berlandi, Jenna Matheson, Marc Donahue, Jennifer Cheung, Morgan O’Blenis, Brooke Livingston, Sara Veira, Megan Riley, Emily Lagerstedt, Bridget McSweeney, Anthony Parolia, Matt LaBonte, Ryan Hackenson, Amanda Santos, Benjamin Hall, Kevin Mason, Rylie Amrhein, Tommy Dockrey, Liam Stewart, Sam Wasser, Ryleigh Francis, Chloe Banchand, Nico Fabrizio, Mia Frazier, Katie Dicenso, Noah Cornwall, Joshua McCarthy, Julianna Torres, Lilly Sheppard, Kieran Donahoe, Alex Bridges, Leanne Terlecki, Xavier Anderson, Emily Morrison, Victoria Sellstone, Erik Craffey, Hailey Barron, Eric Beneski, Jack Barry, Esteban Torres, Shannon Lewis, Sally Power, Josh Amaral, Drew Silvernail, Nick Casale, Brianna Foster, Mia Savino, Abi Mackinaw, Meredith McCarthy, Matt Brown, Chloe Frazier, Colleen Gale, Evan Bettencourt, Nathan Hill, Sandra Smith, Brandon Levesque, and Francis Hayes . Ellyn Gaspardi is the adult coordinator.

The local contest is sponsored by the Bridgewater Community Lions. The posters will be available for viewing through the end of November in the library’s Flora T. Little Gallery on the second floor.

An Artists’ Reception will be held on Wed., Nov. 5th from 6-7p.m. in the library’s Flora T. Little Meeting Room. A brief overview of the Lions Club International Peace Poster contest will be presented and the local contest winner for this school will be announced at 6:45p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
