"Still Waters Run Deep" Premieres

Bridgewater State University presents "Still Waters Run Deep".  This dramatic presentation with traditional folk music, adapted from Edgar Lee Masters' classic anthology of poems, journeys with deceased residents about their lives, loves, and longings in an evening of compelling live theater.

Each piece is an epitaph for a citizen of the small Illinois town, delivered by the passed citizens themselves. They speak and sing of universal truths: some recall stories and turning points of their lives, others make outside observations, the petty complain about the treatment of their graves, while a few tell how they died. Speaking without a reason to lie or fear of any consequences, they paint a picture of American life at the turn of the twentieth century.

The show runs Thursday, Nov. 21st at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22nd at 8 p.m., Saturday Nov. 23rd at 8 p.m., and Sunday Nov. 24th at 2 p.m.
