Ambassador R. Nicholas Burns to Speak at BSU

Ambassador (ret) R. Nicholas Burns: "America's Role in the World,"
3-5pm in the Heritage Room, Maxwell Library.

Ambassador Burns will speak on a range of issues related to America's role in the world. The BSU community and the public are welcome.

Ambassador Burns is Sultan of Oman Professor of International Relations at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. As a career Foreign Service Officer, he was Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs from 2005 to 2008; he led negotiations on the U.S.-India Civil Nuclear Agreement. He was U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Ambassador to Greece, and State Department Spokesman. For five years, he worked on the National Security Council at the White House. Ambassador Burns also served in the American Consulate General in Jerusalem, where he coordinated U.S. economic assistance to the Palestinian people in the West Bank.
