Free metal recycling to benefit local food pantry

The Fifth Annual FREE Metal Recycling day will be held on Saturday, May 3 from 9:00 a.m. til noon at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, adjacent to the CVS in Bridgewater Center. All proceeds benefit the Bridgewater Food Pantry.

The metal drive is sponsored by the church’s Green Sanctuary Committee, in conjunction with KeyforHope, a local non-profit dedicated to providing food and support to those in need. Green Sanctuary churches are committed to promoting sustainable lifestyles for their members as individuals and as a faith community. In the past four years, the one-day drive has netted close to $1000 in food for the Bridgewater Food Pantry.

Bring your scrap metal, large or small, to the church parking lot!! All metal, including appliances, pipe, air conditioners, fencing, file cabinets, bikes, grills and more, will be accepted, minus any gas, propane, glass, etc. Friendly volunteers will help unload your metal. The metal recycling will be held rain or shine.

Please help get the word out!! Tell your friends, family, and neighbors to keep us in mind when doing spring cleaning! Residents and non-residents are welcome. Let’s fill up those roll-off containers and support those in need in our own community.
