Bridgewater Downtown Revitalization Plan Released


 
On October 21, 2014, the Town Council approved a new vision for the revitalization of Downtown Bridgewater. The plan was prepared for Bridgewater’s Community Development Advisory Committee with urban planners from The Cecil Group and traffic planners and engineers from Nelson\Nygaard. The plan recommends a Façade Improvement Program, special signage and wayfinding, changes to Zoning bylaws, focus areas for investment, and off-street utilities. The design concept proposes an improved streetscape, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, enhanced parking, and a Central Square intersection redesign that reclaims the area for civic uses by restoring two-way traffic, making the center safer for bicycles and pedestrians, and introducing a shared-space, local street.
