BSU to host conference on teacher education


To kick off the celebration of its 175th anniversary, Bridgewater State University is hosting a national academic conference entitled The Arc of Teacher Education: From the Normal School to Now, on Thursday, March 26.

The interdisciplinary conference will explore the rich and diverse history of teacher preparation and offer numerous plenary addresses by dozens of leaders in public higher education.

The conference is part of a series of events and celebrations starting in March and concluding with Homecoming in October to commemorate Bridgewater’s historic role as the first permanently sited teacher preparation institution in the United States in 1840.
