Tara Shuman at Bridgewater Public Library

Tara Shuman will visit on October 7 to discuss her recently released book Hope Is a Good Breakfast, and other humble thoughts on my cancer journey.

Hope Is a Good Breakfast offers a down-to-earth and even humorous account of a young mother's journey of self-doubt and self-discovery. It is not simply a book about cancer, but rather, a story about strength and struggle, fear and failure, life and love. Hope Is a Good Breakfast offers proof for all ages of how some people decide to not only hope but to dream big—really big—even when the odds are stacked against them.

Tara was the keynote speaker at Dana-Farber's 2014 Annual Young Adult Conference and she also led a workshop at the 2014 Friends of Mel Art of Living Conference.

Tara is the proud founder of Writing Saves Lives, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote writing as a way to cope and heal. While the organization is in its infant stages, Tara works with a dedicated board of directors who are as excited as she is about growing the organization in the coming years.

The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Bridgewater Public Library, is free and open to the public will include a book signing.
