Islam and Syrian Refugees: Forum Sunday, Feb 7th, 11:30AM, First Parish Unitarian Church

Dr. Jabbar Al-Obaidi, Chair of Middle Eastern Studies, and Ghada Masri, President of the Muslim Student Association, have selected the presenters to engage you with first-hand information:

The President of American-Islamic Relations will introduce the core of Islamic faith.
A refugee family will say why they are fleeing Syria and what their experience has been.
A legal representative will review how emigrants obtain refugee status.
A physician will describe his medical team's mission.

The presentation will begin at 12 noon, with ample time for one-on-one handshakes and questions before and afterwards. Light brunch is offered at 11:30AM. All are welcome to attend and participate in the Q&A and the informal mingling that follows.

This forum is co-sponsored by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, the Muslim Student Association, the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church and The Catholic Center/St Basil Chapel/ St Thomas Aquinas parish. First Parish UU is located at 50 School Street, Bridgewater.
