Spring Science Academy

The Center for the Advancement of STEM Education at Bridgewater State University is excited to offer a Spring Science Academy, Enduring Everest: An Engineering Challenge. During this weeklong program, participating middle school students will design materials necessary to overcome the challenges of conquering the mountain. Hypothermia, carrying the necessary supplies to camps, and altitude sickness stand in the way. It is up to the students to use their creativity and problem solving skills in order to achieve this ambitious goal to summit Everest.

Dates & Times: April 19 - 22, 2016 (Tuesday—Friday), 8:30am – 2:30pm Location: Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center, Bridgewater State University Program Fee: $325.00, covers all course expenses for Spring Science Academy, including lab supplies and materials.

The fee does not include lunch or transportation. Students must bring their own lunches. Limited scholarships are available to students who demonstrate significant financial need and academic merit.

This program is designed for students who are currently in grades 6 – 8. Students who have already completed the Enduring Everest Class in the Summer Science Academy are not eligible to participate.
