The Joy of Birding

The Joy of Birding: Amazing birds and how to start looking for them. An informative program presented by President of the South Shore Bird Club, Christine Whitebread and local resident and bird club trip leader, Peter Jacobson on March 15th @ 6:30 pm at the Bridgewater Public Library.

Start a new hobby in your own back yard! Come learn about a hobby that lasts all season long, has an element of surprise and is educational. Young or old, male or female there is something for everyone in birding. In fact, birding is one of the fastest growing outdoor activities today and more people watch birds than any other outdoor pastime. The South Shore Bird Club will offer a series of walks near Bridgewater for this upcoming spring/early summer for those who would like to start bird watching.

The South Shore Bird Club (SSBC) was founded in 1946 and the first members set out to explore the birds and birding habitats of the South Shore of Massachusetts. They concentrate on field trips for both members and non members. Most trips involve car-pooling with occasional canoe trips or beach hikes. Non-members are always welcome.

The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Bridgewater Public Library, is free and open to the public.
