Arts For Youth - Guitar Greatness

The Saturday AfY Music Program at BSU will provide a fun and structured environment for kids who have a love for music and want to learn more!  Located in the Rondileau Campus Center at BSU, the program offers guitar classes for kids age 7 - 12.  Each class is one hour long, will focus on introductory techniques per instrument(s) and learning how to play & sing at the same time.

Class Meeting Times:  Guitar Greatness: 1:00 - 2:00pm
        Guitar Greatness: 2:30 - 3:30pm                $110.00

No previous experience needed - just a love for music and willingness to play!
Enrollment is limited - sign up now!

Bring or borrow a guitar and they will get you plucking away like a master!  In the guitar class, you will learn introductory techniques, including finger positions for various chords, how to pluck out a melody, and how to sing and play at the same time.  Starting with one note at a time, you will build your chords and once mastered, you will move forward together until you have a nice repertoire of guitar chords to strum and fun songs to sing.  You will also learn about notation of guitar tablature as the class masters their guitar chords!

The music classes will be taught by Austin DeAndrade.

On the final class (November 19th), AfY will host a musical showcase!  Families and friends will be invited to appreciate all that the kids have learned, listening as the youngsters share their newly-mastered chords, rhythms and songs!  As is the AfY tradition, each class will contribute an original composition or two to round out the celebration!
