Free Metal Recycling To Benefit Food Pantry

On Saturday, May 6, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Bridgewater will hold a FREE metal recycling drive. Scrap metal may be brought to the church parking lot adjacent to the CVS on Route 104 in Bridgewater Center. All types of metal, including stoves, pipe, file cabinets, bikes, shelving, and grills will be accepted. Please do not include items containing Freon, gas, propane, glass, etc. Friendly volunteers will be on hand to unload your metal. The metal recycling drive will be held rain or shine and is open to residents and non-residents.

The metal drive is sponsored by the church’s Green Sanctuary Committee, in conjunction with Bridgewater Recycling Inc. Green Sanctuary churches are committed to promoting sustainable lifestyles for their members, both as individuals and as a faith community. A portion of the profits from the metal collection will be donated to the Bridgewater Food Pantry. In the past seven years, the one-day drive has netted over $1650 for the food pantry. For more information, please call 774-240-1307 or visit the church website at
