Events at the Bridgewater Public Library in August



Enter our raffle to win a handmade Minion cornhole game is perfect for your backyard summer fun! Cornhole game latches to contain (included) beanbags when not in use. Must see– displayed at the circulation desk where tickets will be sold. Tickets will be sold June 1 thru July 31. Tickets can be purchased at the circulation desk for $1.00 each or 6/$5.00. Winning ticket drawn on August 1– you do not need to be present to win.


Now thru July 31: Enter our summer reading program “Build a Better World” Our summer reading program is open to children ages 3-12. Everyone who reads one book will be eligible to win a bike donated by Estabrook and Chamberlain Insurance Agency of Bridgewater. Last day to register for summer reading is July 31.


Now thru August 5: Summer reading participants: pick up your bike raffle ticket and enter to win a bike donated by Estabrook and Chamberlain Insurance Agency of Bridgewater.


Now thru Wednesday, August 9: Crazy summer savings at the Bridgewater Used Book Store! Children’s Books are half off from June 20 thru August 9! Take them to the beach or on vacation– no need to worry about late fees or damage! Finish off your collection or start a new one—new arrivals weekly.


Tuesday, August 1 @ 1:00 p.m.: Join us for a mini class and learn Martial Art moves with Premier Martial Arts. Recommended for ages 5-12. No registration required.


Wednesday, August 2 @ 1:30-2:30 p.m.: Lego Mania: Ages 6+ are welcome to join us for this drop in program. We provide the Legos, you bring the imagination. No registration.


Thursday, August 3 @ 10:30-11:00 a.m.: Book Babies. Lapsit for ages infant to 30 months with caregiver. Join Mrs. Davis for rhymes, songs, story and playtime. No registration.


Friday, August 4 @ 10:30-11:30 a.m.: Join us for Easton Children’s Museum STEM Workshop, sponsored by Triumph, Inc. This week’s program is Build It!: Structures, motion and stability. Design and construction. Get excited about the fundamental principles of engineering and physics. Experiments with a range of different materials. Solve fun engineering problems. Ages 4 to 8. Registration required.


Monday, August 7 @ 10:30 a.m.: Movie and popcorn (while supplies last). Join us for a movie about a dog who wants to rock and roll (89 minutes). All ages welcome for this PG rated movie, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Wednesday, August 9 @ 6:30 p.m.: Join us for our finale to summer reading as we present Matt Roberts, master of comedy and magic! Parents and kids can enjoy this family friendly show as we celebrate the end of summer reading. All ages welcome, no registration. We will also be drawing the winners of the bike raffle at tonight’s program.

and predictions through a compilation of some of our favorite science, technology, engineering and mathematics experiments. Learn to
ask questions, define problems, construct explanations and design solutions while having fun! Ages 4 to 8. Registration required.
