Arts for Youth Founders Receive Award For Their Work With Kids!

Jim Quinn and Lisa Troy are being recognized by the Rotary Club of the Bridgewaters as Citizens of the Year, representing Bridgewater, for their years of bringing the arts to children in the community, as well as all of the volunteer art events they have participated in over the past 25 years in the Bridgewater area.

Introducing the arts to children, especially at a young age, is such an important and worthy endeavor. The arts are a vital part of every child’s social, emotional, and creative growth, breeding confidence and self-esteem, and we wish that every child had the opportunity to work in the arts throughout the year! At least at Arts for Youth, we can offer a wonderful, arts-enriched summer to young children and teens. We have loved watching how the creative spirits of our campers get nurtured by all of you – it is always a joy, and more importantly, it is joyful for them.

It will be hard for Lisa to leave Arts for Youth in a few years…and Jim hasn’t quite left yet, despite his retirement!

The Rotary Club each year hosts a short evening of celebration for the Bridgewater’s Citizens of the Year. This year it will be held on Monday night, November 13 at 7:00pm at the Center at Sachem Rock in East Bridgewater at 355 Plymouth Street.
There will be speeches, followed by coffee and dessert. If you can attend this event, it would be nice to see everyone!
Tickets are $20.00, and the money raised will go to scholarships for high school students, as well as help fund other worthy charitable events.
Tickets can be purchased by emailing Bruce Marquis:
