Flora T. Little Art Gallery

The Bridgewater Public Library will feature an exhibit of paintings entitled “Searching for Brightness” by Dawn M. DeCosta in the Flora T. Little Art Gallery. The exhibition will be on display during the months of December and January.

Bold colors, textures, and originality compose Dawn’s paintings filled with graffiti-like marks, scrapes, layers, and noise against vivid planes. Dawn’s work evolved from her first exhibit in 2013, entitled Poppy Pressure, where she deconstructed the poppy flower yielding spontaneous and unexpected results. Recently, Dawn has been working on a series of paintings entitled Searching for Brightness, featuring abstract landscapes. Dawn is typically working on several pieces, simultaneously arranging them into new conceptually layered works filled with robust doses of positive energy.

The Flora T. Little Gallery is open during regular library hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9a.m.-8p.m.; Thursday 10a.m.-5p.m., Friday, Saturday 10a.m.-2p.m.
