Refugee Crisis in Africa: Perspectives from Uganda

The Minnock Institute for Global Engagement will present a lecture by the Honorable Jacqueline Amongin, Member of Parliament, Uganda--REFUGEE CRISIS IN AFRICA: PERSPECTIVES FROM UGANDA--on March 21 from 12-1:45 pm in the Welcome Center, Room 202.

A BSU Mandela Fellow in 2017, Ms. Amongin was awarded the Mandela Women Leadership Prize that same year for her "actions towards social justice and valuable achievements in community change." She is a founder of the Jacqueline Amongin Development Foundation (formerly the Hope Foundation). JADEF is a non-governmental organization targeting educational, health, and agricultural improvements in the social economic status of vulnerable groups, especially women and needy children in Uganda.

Ms. Amongin will deliver a second lecture, AFRICAN UNION AND UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS, on March 26 from 9:30-11 am in the Heritage Room.

The events are open to the BSU community and the public.
