Bridgewater's Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony.

There are many ways to properly retire the American Flag and this is a great opportunity for scouts to learn one of them.

The Vet's Club of Bridgewater, 85 Cottage St., will hold it's annual Flag Retirement ceremony on Saturday, June 15, beginning at 10:00 a.m. They encourage Girl Scouts, BSA Scouts, and the community to attend and participate.

If you have any flags that need retiring, please either bring them that morning, or drop them off at the Vet's Club beforehand. They have a "mailbox" for flags needing retiring next to their "member's entrance" on the Rte. 18/28 side of the building. If you have a large number of flags to retire, you may leave them in a box or bag.

The Vet's Club provides cold drinks and hot dogs for attendees.

Scouts should wear their uniforms (Class A for BSA) for the ceremony but may want something more casual (Class B for BSA) for after the ceremony.

Please remember to apply/bring sunblock! You do not have to stay until all of the flags are retired, but you are welcome to stay as long as you like. You may also want to bring a camp chair as there is no outdoor seating.
