Bridgewater Citizens for Civility & Respect Forum on Immigration Issues

Bridgewater Citizens for Civility and Respect (BCCR), formed three years ago to promote civil discourse and respectful behavior among all citizens, is sponsoring its second, yearly series of forums on relevant topics of widespread interest. The forums, entitled “Being Neighborly: Building Common Ground,” focus on respectful sharing of differing/diverging views on the topic at hand.

On Monday, October 7th, for the first forum of the new season, the topic is:

Immigration:

 Understanding the laws—what are the facts?
 Clearing up misconceptions
 Sharing views, seeking compromise

Guest Presenters: Sarang Sekhavat, Mass. Immigrant and Refugee Advocate Coalition; Jean Bradley Derenoncourt, Brockton City Councilor; Helena DaSilva Hughes, New Bedford Immigrants’ Assistance Center, Inc., and others TBA.

The forum begins at 6:30, at the Bridgewater Public Library. All are welcome.
