The Upside of Depression

“The Upside of Depression” workshop given by Marcy Venezia of Glee Works on Tuesday, February 25th at 6:30 pm.

A mind, body spirit perspective reveals important opportunities to reduce the severity of depression, help individuals develop resilience and practical skills for managing their depression.

Within the context of discussing the stages of depression, we will look at how mindsets, physiology and spiritual practice can reduce the negative aspects of depression. Through mindfulness practices, you will learn to cultivate hope, relax and find joy in this interactive engaging experience.

Marcy began developing SocioSomatic Dynamics (Mind, Body Spirit integrated practice) in the 1980s. Her thesis, Counseling Gifted and Talented children using Body Awareness, helped children learn to cope with the stress of being gifted and having learning differences by teaching them to manage their physiology. She currently coaches’ individuals and groups, and conducts seminars to help people understand the mind, body and spirit connection and how it impacts their world so that they can reach their goals.

The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Bridgewater Public Library, is free and open to the public.
