Summer Science Academy at BSU

The Center for Advancement of STEM Education (CASE) at Bridgewater State University is offering a selection of programs during its four-day Summer Science Academy designed for students entering grades 6-12 in fall 2020.

Courses are held at the Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center (24 Park Ave.) and other locations on and off campus.

Programs offered July 6-10 include Create and Innovate: Make Your Mark at the BSU Makerspace and Forensics Institute at Bridgewater for students entering grades 6-8 and Pathways to Medicine for those entering grades 9-12.

Programs for the week of July 13 include A Whale of a Mystery for students entering grades 6-8 and Cancer in Context for 9-12.

Throughout the weeklong program, students work as scientists and conduct hands-on investigations in their selected class. All classes focus on the importance of science communication as students lead presentations on the last day of class. Middle school students also participate in extracurricular science activities.

Several discounts are available including early registration by March 20, sibling and multiple week discounts. Fees cover course expenses including lab supplies and materials. Lunch and transportation are not included. For more information, visit https://microsites.bridgew.edu/case/summer-science-programs or contact Maura Whittemore at 508.531.2575.
